NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY NEEDS TO SELL 150 TICKETS NOW –- PAY BY CHECK IN US!!!! ADVANCED TICKET NOW AVAILABLE - - $30.00US Great News! The actual tickets for the New Year's Party are now in and available for pickup, so please go by the Akumal Villas office, the La Bahia office, or contact Karson karson@baddog.com for your tickets. As you are very much aware, we have to sell 150 tickets in the next couple of weeks - by October 1st - in order to make the deposits on all the food, drinks, and sound equipment. Many of you have already reserved tickets, but you have been waiting for the tickets to come in before actually purchasing them. The tickets are in, and they are LOOKING GOOD! For those of you not here in Akumal right now, please make the arrangements with your manager, agent, or friends to send your orders and money for tickets. The Advanced Ticket Committee consists of Karson Leigh karson@baddog.com, Nan Armstrong nanarmstrong@prodigy.net.mx, Kay Walten lgu@mail.caribe.net.mx and Katie McCarthy katie@akumal-villas.com . It has been suggested that the villas owners who have their villas rented for Christmas and/or New Years utilize a small portion of their profits and purchase tickets for their renters/guests to help make their experience here in Akumal that much more filling. If arrangements cannot be made through your on-site manager, you can do make payment directly within the US. Diane Mahan's daughter, Kelly Flynn, will accept checks made out to Akumal Villas LLC, and she will deposit them into the business account to cover your purchase. Mail to: Kelly Flynn It is absolutely imperative that we sell at least 150 tickets before October 1st! Do not put off until tomorrow what you can do today. Give your guests two tickets to the New Year's Eve party. THERE STILL IS ONE WEEK LEFT TO HELP MAKE THE QUOTA OF 150 TICKETS SOLD BEFORE OCTOBER 1ST. DO IT!!!! ADDITIONAL NEWS FROM AROUND TOWN THE AKUMAL BOWLING CONSORTIUM (ABC) The pre-season bowling consortium continued on September 19th at the AMF Worcester ten-pin bowling lanes, and the early leaders, Steve & Ingrid Clouther, continue to enhance their positions with high average, high series, and high game in their respective divisions. They also continue to stretch their lead in the mixed couples division as well. It has been reported that Denny Mahan is carrying a 14 pound rock around San Miguel De Allende's 6,500 feet altitude in an effort to get in shape for the season's opener in early October. Bob Mulgrew is also practicing, albeit at the Lol Ha Beach Bar with a weightless air-ball. The pre-season schedule
continues on September 27th, albeit as part of the North American tour and
Steve & Ingrid's grandson's Birthday party. It's also candle pin bowling
versus ten pin - big difference. HURRICANE ISADORE Isadore swung around the Yucatan Peninsula and then went south onto land where it currently is about 55 miles south of Merida. Our latest report from Akumal - 9/23/02 at 12:13PM - says, "the electricity goes on and off since the weekend and we couldn't use the Internet. We had a very stormy night, but almost without any rain. Lots of branches fall down in South Akumal and two telephone lines (not yours). The wind is still very strong and the beaches are very short now, but I hope it's almost over now. Cancun airport was closed yesterday, but they opened again today. The Palapa, next to Carlos Restaurant got on fire, but they controlled the fire. Don't worry, we don't have a dangerous situation down here, everything is pretty normal. Businesses are open and schools too.
